I have booked apartments across the globe, and Silvia and her flat in Sant’Ambrogio top them all. From location to amenities to the exhaustive list of recommendations, to the warm and personal reception I received, Silvia sets the stage for a comfortable and smooth stay in Florence. I enjoyed hearing Italian spoken outside as part of the soundtrack of the city. On a Saturday night, voices from the street can be heard, but I found it easy to sleep with the earplugs Silvia provides. The apartment is decorated beautifully, with every amenity I could think to need or want, including a bottle of Chianti upon arrival. On top of it all, Silvia’s attention to detail carried over to advising me on train tickets from Rome, and even meeting me at the station and sharing her umbrella to walk me “home” in the rain. The location is perfection, as noted elsewhere. I won’t stay anywhere else in Florence and look forward to returning. Brava and grazie mille, Silvia!

Silvia's apartment is delightful, and it is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Florence, between the Sant'Ambrogio market (much less touristy than the Mercato Centrale) and the Florentine State Archives. It is just a few minutes outside of the epicenter of tourism, which makes the neighborhood feel more authentic and less geared towards tourists. There are thousands of rental apartments in Florence, and many of them are small, dark, furnished on the cheap, and not particularly nice. This apartment is the exact opposite! It's wonderfully renovated, feels spacious, is thoughtfully furnished and equipped, and is bright and clean. There is lots of useful storage in the apartment, and everything worked very well. We are a family of two adults and two kids, and we were very comfortable in the apartment. Silvia had even purchased a crib for our toddler, which was very much appreciated. There are very effective ceiling fans in all of the rooms, and they make the apartment feel comfortable, even in the stifling summer heat. (Another little thing that we appreciated was that Silvia gave us two keys for the apartment rather than only one, as is often the case elsewhere. It's a detail, but it makes it easier to juggle a rental apartment with multiple people.)
